Perhaps everything that ever happens, including our thoughts and memories, is stored in permanent “Akashic records,” a cosmic memory field hidden in yet unknown aspects of reality.
Recently I participated in yet another Facebook discussion, initiated by a good friend, about atheism and religion. In the discussion, I referred to some (not all) atheists as “rabid, unthinking atheists,” which caused an heated debate. I promised to write a longer and hopefully thoughtful post, and here it is with a deliberately provocative title. The 2015 edition of the Terasem Annual Colloquium on the Law of Futuristic Persons, themed “Moral and Legal Imperatives for Sentient AI” will take place in Second Life – Terasem sim – on December 10, with Zoltan Istvan among the speakers.
We are planning a conference in India, late 2016 or 2017. The conference will be titled “India Awakens.” Everything besides the conference’s name and rough time-frame is open, so please join the discussion.
The date for the 2016 Conference of the Mormon Transhumanist Association (MTA) has been announced. The conference will take place on Saturday, 9 April 2016, at the Salt Lake City Public Library. One of the two keynote speakers will be Eric Steinhart, professor in the Department of Philosophy at William Paterson University, and author of “Your Digital Afterlives: Computational Theories of Life after Death.” The other keynote speaker will be announced later.
