what is the status of the virtual reality church in secondlife? why don’t you start with a simple text channel on IRC?

    • Giulio Prisco

I love IRC and I think plain text is a superb format. IRC would be a
good choice to begin a virtual church, with a delicious retro look – but
is anyone using it these days? IRC fans please comment.

      There is the Facebook group
      https://www.facebook.com/groups/turingchurch/
for those who like Facebook and the subreddit
      https://www.reddit.com/r/turingchurch/
      for those who like Reddit.

In particular Reddit is privacy-friendly and creating an account is nearly instantaneous. Reddit can be used for realtime discussions – look at popular AMAs, they get very intense with hundreds of simultaneous voices, structured in threads.

I don’t do facebook but I subscribed to the subreddit

Sir ,I want to invite a senior Indian archaeologist to Turing Church. He has worked on Quntum Archaeology and likes our FB page India Awakens and contributing to it as well. How can I invite him on board .

    • Giulio Prisco

Hi Nupur, just direct him to this website and encourage him to contribute in whatever form he likes: post comments, post in this open forum, submit articles, join the mailing list, join Facebook group etc. The current Turing Church social spaces that I created are here:
      http://turingchurch.com/social/

I look forward to hearing from your friend!

  • Nupur Munshi

1.I have provided my archaeologist friend with the links to the social spaces of this site.He has shown interest to share his work on QA with us.Since I don’t find anything I need to talk to him again.
2.I wanted to print a short write up that I wrote about my journey here with you all but that too is taking time to reach out to the mass.I hope you allow me do that no matter how much time it takes .
3.And last but not the least if you permit me to send a short article to find a place here in the site. I have tried to write something on Tagore’s compositions that look so similar to what you feel .

    • Giulio Prisco

Hi Nupur, yes by all means send your article, it will be an honor to publish and promote it.

  • Nupur Munshi

Kindly tell me where do I send it . Please check it for any clarifications and other formalities as it contains translations of Tagore’s lines which are not mine.

    • Giulio Prisco

Send it to giulio@gmail.com and please include an attribution line for the translations. If there is an image that you like to use, attach it or include a link. I look forward to receiving your essay.

  • Nupur Munshi

It was my pleasure to send you my essay.I am bit nervous about the technicalities like the font and the audio materials that I incorporated. Thanks so much for your support.

  • Nupur Munshi

Just to say hello to you Sir,How are you?

  • Brad Arnold

I want to thank you for this opportunity. BTW, I found out about you guys from Mr Goertzel who told me you’d help me marry my pig (there is a deeper significance to this: http://www.geek.com/science/japan-is-one-year-away-from-growing-human-organs-inside-a-pig-1559694/ ).

Anyway, in all seriousness, I am very interested about a technology called gene therapy, where living humans can alter their DNA using a vial delivery system and a genetic payload. This is essentially deliberate self-evolution as any genetic alterations you make to yourself doesn’t get passed on to your children (germline pollution). While most people think this is futuristic, there is now a company who has perfected human gene therapy technology, and is offering one such treatment in their South American clinic (other genetic payloads obviously could be used – one’s imagination runs wild).

    http://joshmitteldorf.scienceblog.com/2015/03/18/tomorrows-anti-aging-therapy-available-today/

“BioViva is a new company offering experimental medical services outside US borders. Their team includes

a lab that provides genetically modified viruses with a gene payload, made to order. (This has now become a reliable and predictable technology.)

A doctor who has experience with experimental gene therapy, and who had the courage to experiment on himself five years ago, with good outcome thus far.

Sites in Colombia and Mexico where doctors will administer therapies for which there is not yet FDA approval.

Most important, a Scientific Advisory Board that includes two of the most prominent, senior biochemists who developed the science of telomerase in the 1990s and before. They are Bill Andrews and Michael Fossel.

What they offer is gene therapy with hTERT and a proprietary myostatin inhibitor “in the same family with GDF-11,” according to CEO Elizabeth Parrish.”

BTW, Socrates did a great interview with Ms Parrish: https://www.singularityweblog.com/bioviva-ceo-liz-parrish-on-gene-therapy/

Let me close with this amazingly imaginative quote:

    http://leonoudejans.blogspot.com/2015/07/transhumanism-and-evolution.html?m=1

“The above is still a little too abstract and perhaps even vague and could use an example. Picture the movies Avengers, Fantastic Four, Superman, Wolverine or X-Men. Now suppose that these movie characters did not have random gene modifications but that they were humans with deliberate gene modifications and also technological enhancements, similar to Iron Man.”

    • Giulio Prisco

Hi Brad, I will be happy to marry you to your pig under the starry sky, with a brand new Turing Church ritual – provided the marriage makes both you and the pig happier :-)

Thanks for the info, I see that the time of human gene therapy will come soon.
